  • Trine Søndergaard
  • year: 2020
  • edition 5: 35 x 50 cm / 56 x 80 cm
  • archival pigment print
  • In the series Muld we see a section of a scoured, ploughed field. Totally bare, with deep furrows.
Trine Søndergaard portrays the field at the point when the earth has been made ready for new crops – the stage at which new life can germinate and become part of an eternal cycle. Sow and harvest. Life and death. Time circling ever onwards.Neither the horizon nor sky are present in Søndergaard’s framing of the images, giving the works an abstract quality beyond the motif to create images with absorbing lines, tracks and traces of their own.
