Trine Søndergaard is participating in the upcoming exhibition TESER at Ribe Kunstmuseum

In TESER. Danish Contemporary Artists in Dialogue with the Reformation, 25 prominent Danish artists have been invited to reflect on the Reformation and its significance. The thoughts have been translated into artistic expression in various media: for example, painting, sculpture, installation, photography and graphics. All works are new and created specially for the exhibition. The exhibition commemorates the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation. Traditionally we regard Martin Luther’s posting of the 95 Theses on the doors of All Saints’ Church in Wittenberg as the start of the Reformation, which was to characterise large parts of the world and still does. That is why the 500th anniversary will be commemorated in various ways both within and outside the Church.

The 25 artists featured in the exhibition are: Lise Blomberg Andersen, Martin Erik Andersen, Bank & Rau, Kaspar Bonnén, Peter Brandes, Peter Linde Busk, Peter Callesen, Viera Collaro, Maja Lisa Engelhardt, Anette Harboe Flensborg, Erik A. Frandsen, Leonard Forslund, Ib Monrad Hansen, Lise Harlev, Hein Heinsen, Sophia Kalkau, Christian Lemmerz, Karin Lorentzen, Ulrik Møller, Janne Klerk, Kirstine Roepstorff, Trine Søndergaard, Alexander Tovborg, Laila Westergaard and Ebbe Stub Wittrup.

THESES. Danish Contemporary Artists in Dialogue with the Reformation will be presented this spring at the Round Tower in Copenhagen and will now transfer to Ribe Kunstmuseum (27 May – 27 August 2017). The exhibition will then proceed to Fuglsang Art Museum (8 September 2017 – 7 January 2018), the Museum of Religious Art in Lemvig (20 January – 29 April 2018) and Stiftung Christliche Kunst in Wittenberg (25 May – 2 September 2018)

The Wunderbuch publishing house will publish a book containing reproductions of all the works, articles by Henrik Wivel, D.Phil. and Lisbeth Bonde, Mag.Art., as well as interviews with the individual artists by Lisbeth Bonde.

The exhibition and the publication of the book have been subsidised by 15th June Foundation, the Augustinus Foundation, the Beckett Foundation, the Bikuben Foundation, the Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik Foundation, Folkekirkens Fællesfond, the New Carlsberg Foundation and Committee for Visual Arts Project Funding of the Danish Arts Foundation. Her Majesty the Queen is the Patron of the 2017 Anniversary of the Reformation.
